The developer behind the proposals to build 400 homes on land next to Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park has now submitted the formal planning application to Redcar & Cleveland Planning Committee and residents have until 24th June 2016 to submit comments.
UPDATE September 1st 2016 - Victory for campaign to stop housing at Flatts Lane Country Park
We, the undersigned, join Anna Turley MP and local councillors in opposing housing development on Flatts Lane Country Park.
We believe the proposed housing is unnecessary, will put more pressure on local facilities and infrastructure, and will damage a wildlife habitat with the loss of green space on Eston Hills.
We urge the planning committee to reject this application.
Labour MP for Redcar Anna Turley today warned the cap on housing support for social rented properties would make sheltered housing schemes for vulnerable people unviable and at risk of closure.
Hundreds of members of the community came together and signed letters objecting to a proposed development in Marske last Saturday (2nd November). Residents turned out in force for a campaign organised by Marske’s local Labour Party alongside members of New Marske Residents Association and the Stop the Houses Campaign in a concerted local effort to fight plans for a massive new housing estate planned for the south of the town. The development, for a 1000 new houses and associated retail development, will front the length of the A174 from Longbeck Road to the Marske roundabout.
