With just 320 days to the next General Election, Labour stepped up its campaign in Redcar on Saturday (21 June 2014) when it opened its new Campaign HQ in the town.
Labour Shadow Energy Secretary, Caroline Flint cut the ribbon at Labour Party candidate Anna Turley’s new Campaign Office on Millbank Terrace in Redcar’s Town Centre.

Redcar is one of Labour’s key target seats at the next General Election due to take place in May 2015.

Speaking at the opening, Anna Turley said:
“Over the last few years I’ve knocked on over 15,000 doors across the constituency to talk to local people and make sure Labour is listening. Opening this Campaign Office is the next stage of my campaign. I want to be accessible to local people, support them if they need assistance, and I also want encourage others to join me in my campaign to fight back on behalf of the people of Redcar.”

Caroline Flint MP said:
“It was a real pleasure to visit Redcar again and to open Anna’s new office in the centre of the town. The first time I campaigned in Redcar we were up to our knees in snow, the last time it was raining non-stop, so it’s great to see the town at its sunny best.

“The Labour Party wants all our candidates rooted in the community and that’s what this office will help Anna do.

“We have just under a year to the election and Labour will not be taking any votes for granted. Anna and her team will be out across the constituency knocking on doors, listening and taking action.”
